Philippa was born, raised and schooled in South Africa, and is a citizen of the United States, having moved to the US in 1984. After completing high school in South Africa, she spent a year as an exchange student living with a family and attending high school in Spanish in Costa Rica. Her fluency in Spanish serves her well as an inhabitant of California.
After completing medical school and post-graduate training in South Africa, she sought adventure as a physician in a small rural town in Zimbabwe for three years. There, she learned to thrive on her ingenuity, with little in the way of medical technology to support her practice.
Philippa is married to a urologist, and has one daughter, whom she gave birth to just prior to her 48th birthday. She lives and loves in Los Angeles, continuously engaged in finding ways to thrive as a multi-dimensional woman – spouse, mom, family member, friend, and physician entrepreneur.
